How to Get Here

"A wonderful place to stay, better than 4 star hotel "

Although Amisfield's postal address is Whauphill, we are in fact closer to Port William.

From Stranraer :

Leave stranraer following signs for A75 to Dumfries. As you by-pass the village of Glenluce on your left and climb a steep hill, prepare to take a right turn for Port William, Garlieston and The Machars, at a brown tourist sign. Follow the coast road round to Port William Village.

From Port William :

At 'The Square' in Port William, go up the hill past the Bank of Scotland. Pass the school on your right, then take your first left as you leave the village after the school. You will pass The Dourie Farm, go over a narrow bridge and our farm sits up on the left. Pass our farm entry and Amisfield sits on your next left.

From Newton Stewart :

At the Newton Stewart roundabout, follow signs for Wigtown, Port William, Garlieston, Sorbie. If coming from Dumfries on the A75 this means taking the first left at the roundabout.

Continue to follow signs for Port William, Around 12 miles from Newton Stewart, you will reach the village of Whauphill. 3 miles on from Whauphill there is a sign for Mochrum and a road to Mochrum on the right (beside Airyhassen Farmhouse). Do Not Take This Turn - but take the next right one mile further on which is a single track road. Just before thie right turn is the Historic Scotland sing for 'Drumtroddan Ring Marks' on the left.

If you look over to the right at Drumtroddan, you will see our farm on the hill in front of you and Amisfield is the white bungalow downhill and to the right of the farm.

If in any doubt, do not hesitate to call 01988 700 284 and we can arrange to meet you.
